Summary

The City of Ocean Shores is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of City Clerk. The City Clerk is part of the Mayor’s executive team and reports directly to the Mayor or designee. Under the direction of the Mayor or designee, plan, organize, control and direct the City Clerk office operation; assist with the Council agenda packet process, attend City Council meetings, and take or supervise the taking of Council meeting minutes; provide information and legislative management services to Mayor, City Council, staff and citizens; create and maintain systems to store and retrieve official documents and records; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; must be confidential and honest.

Qualifications include: a high school diploma or equivalent; Municipal clerk certification or substantial steps toward such certification is highly desirable; a minimum of 5 years of experience in business administration, public administration, or closely related field OR a combination of education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform all essential job functions. Must be bondable and have a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier. Must be able to pass a background and credit check.
