Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS), a consortium of Minnesota cities established over 46 years ago, is seeking a visionary leader focused on providing efficient technology and exemplary customer service to its 57 member organizations. The position is open because of the announced retirement of the current executive director whose career with LOGIS has spanned 30 years.
Headquartered in Golden Valley, Minnesota, LOGIS provides a full range of applications for its member organizations, ranging from financial management, HR and payroll, public safety and GIS to utility billing, permits and inspections, special assessments and property data systems. It is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of one representative from each member organization; many business decisions are handled by a five-member Executive Committee which meets quarterly. The fiscal year 2019 budget is approximately $14.5 million with a staff of 70 full-time equivalent employees.
The Executive Director provides organizational leadership that aligns with LOGIS’ strategic plan, champions innovation, directs information technology strategic operations planning, prioritizes technology initiatives; and oversees financial and administrative management.
The Executive Director position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, technology or a related field, advanced degree preferred, and extensive leadership experience in a comparable public or private sector organization. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. Qualified candidates must have experience in business planning, building consensus for strategic direction and leading the development and implementation of a technology roadmap. Outstanding communications and relationship-building skills are required. Working knowledge of local area networks, server, internet and private cloud technologies desired. Public sector experience preferred.
The anticipated starting salary for this position is up to $175,621, DOQ.
